Treasured Scrapbooking Treasure Hunt
Saturday, August 8, 2009 at 02:27PM So I just finished my first layout for the Treasure Hunt at Treasured Scrapbooking. I wanted to do something different rather than a serious layout but it just didn’t turn out the way I was envisioning! I had every intention of using a larger picture but I couldn’t get it all to fit in the way I hoped.
The challenge requirements included:
- at least one circle (3 inches or bigger)
- torn paper
- only ONE photo
- journaling….and the journaling must include “I wish someone had told me that…”

Hope you’re having some scrappy fun!
The journaling reads:
10 Scrapping Facts I wish someone had told me that I should remember
Just do it! Scrap your memories not for a contest, not for a design team, not for anyone but you and your family.
For the last time, it’s OK to use flowers on a masculine layout!
Measure twice and cut once or it will eventually bite you in the a$$.
Buy at least 2 sheets of any patterned paper you love because when you to go use them you will find your children already have.
Don’t be a collector of scrapgoods, be a user!
Even though you’ve invested a ton of $$ buying the best camera and lenses, you will get bad pictures - use them anyways!
Don’t buy patterned paper packs. Inevitably, there will only be 1 or 2 sheets of paper you like and the rest will sit or be donated.
Don’t use floating embellishments - they need to be grounded or it will look like they are in outer space.
Scraplift! When you are stuck or need a boost in mojo, start lifting! Most likely your layout will look completely different.
Never drink and scrap because the next morning you’ll realize that things were not straight when you adhered them.
I’m trying to get ready for our trip tomorrow so I won’t even see the results until mid-week next week - let’s hope the next layout (assuming I make the next cut) goes a little quicker!!
